About Me

I am a retired civil servant with an Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology from Hinds Jr. College and a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M. I worked in the medical field for thirty years, holding positions such as Medical Equipment Repairman, Clinical/Biomedical Engineer, Construction Project Manager, Computer Systems Analyst, Computer Programmer, and Webmaster.

The roles I enjoyed most involved computers—especially programming. It scratched a creative itch that no other job could satisfy. Some of the programming languages I’ve used include MUMPS (M), C, C++, Python, Pascal, JavaScript, and HTML. Recently, I’ve enjoyed experimenting with Arduino and Raspberry Pi projects.

My hobbies include woodworking, local history, genealogy, birding, and electronics. My woodworking website is "The Sawdust Post", where I share projects, jigs, and various creations I’ve built over the years. There’s something especially rewarding about researching a design, modeling it in SketchUp or Fusion-360, and building it from scratch.

My wife and I also enjoy exploring historical sites and taking day trips to visit local scenic and historic destinations. Some of our adventures are documented on our website "Meander and Gander".
